Outside Context
These happy and playful wild dogs live on the human rubbish strewn
around the banks of the Ganges at Varanasi. Western ideals of
cleanliness are not valid when there is no rubbish collection! A
better description of familial happiness I have never seen and I
watched them play together for twenty minutes.

While the band selection drew the crowds, the food made them stay.
Jimmy has some cracking meat products and we all tucked into his
famous sausages. Then we watched as James Martin demonstrated three
dishes from his book before joining the rest of our gang to see KT
Tunstall perform brilliantly. The animals at the farm cover pigs of
all types from Guinnie to Essex, but it was the butterfly enclosure
that held my favourite treasure. Here it is licking Luara’s hand. Cute.
Walking one of the Great Walks of New Zealand is always a challenge
and any way of skipping a little of the winding path is welcomed. But,
not without risk! On the Abel Tasmin we find such a potential shortcut
across a tidal bay, but can we reach the other side before the waters
come back in? In the end we made it, just. Wading over newly formed
rivers we spashed up the final bank and took stock of our fortune, the
people after us had better get their water wellys out!
